Incline Lake Dam Demolition
Incline Lake was a small reservoir upstream of Lake Tahoe, Nevada. It was owned by the USDA Forest Service who decided to decommission the lake and restore its natural stream path in 2020.
Meridiam Partners was contracted by the USDA Forest Service to remove the lake’s main dam and an auxiliary dam. 20,0000 CY of soil embankment fill from the two dams was removed and relocated on-site. Unnatural elements of the dam including the concrete spillway and pipelines were removed and disposed of off-site. Temporary erosion control measures were used during the demolition. Woodchip material from clearing and grubbing was reused for permanent erosion control upon completion of the dam demolition.
